Installation & Wall Replacement

Some walls are past the point of patching. Others are brand new — a remodeled kitchen, a finished garage, an addition going up. Both need drywall installed from the studs out, done square and finished clean. That’s full-board work, and it’s what our installation service is built for.

When a Wall Needs Replacing Instead of Patching

Patches work for holes; replacement is right when the damage is too big or too widespread:

  • A wall section soaked through by a leak, where the paper is peeling and the core is soft
  • Repeated damage in one spot — a corner that’s been hit three times has no solid backing left
  • Mold or contamination behind the board that requires removal, not covering
  • Remodels that open walls for plumbing or wiring and need clean new surfaces
  • Cracked slabs of old plaster on vintage homes where the finish is failing across a large area

We’ll always tell you which job you actually have. Sometimes a couple of patches will do, and we’ll say so — replacement costs more, and we don’t upsell it.

How a Full Installation Goes

  1. Protect the space. Floors, furniture, and fixtures get covered before any board moves.
  2. Prep the framing. We check studs and joists, add blocking where needed, and square up the layout.
  3. Hang the board. Sheets cut tight around outlets, windows, and corners, fastened on the right schedule.
  4. Tape and coat. Three coats of joint compound, each sanded, each given drying time. Rushing here is what makes walls look lumpy ten years later.
  5. Texture and finish. We apply or match your wall texture, then the surface is ready for paint.

Remodels and Additions Across Carrollton

Carrollton homeowners keep busy — kitchen refreshes in the established neighborhoods, garage conversions near Josey Ranch, and room additions off Hebron Parkway. We slot into your project timeline, coordinate with other trades when walls are open, and leave every finished surface ready for paint.

Wallboard Options We Work With

Different rooms need different board, and we install them all:

  • Standard half-inch board for most walls and ceilings
  • Moisture-resistant board for bathrooms and laundry areas
  • Fire-rated board for garages and shared walls where code calls for it
  • Sound-dampening board for media rooms, nurseries, and home offices

Older Homes, Older Walls

Vintage houses near the downtown Carrollton square and the A.W. Perry area sometimes carry plaster over lath instead of drywall. Those walls need a careful hand — you can’t just slap a board over a century-old finish without planning the transition. We blend new drywall into old plaster surfaces so the doorway between old and new doesn’t show.

Clean Job Sites, Every Time

Full installs make dust and debris — that’s unavoidable. Leaving it behind isn’t. We seal off the work zone, clean as we go, and haul off every offcut and empty bucket before we call the job done.
